OG&CC Elite Junior and Student: Benefits, Requirements, Process and Expectations

To provide junior and student members greater opportunities to train and develop in order to compete at a higher level.
The club will provide Elite Junior members and Elite Student members unlimited access to the tee and range facilities to support their ongoing development.
The following restrictions apply when playing outside the normal Junior and Student tee off time:
  • must be invited to play in a tee time with a senior member
  • must have a minimum of one senior member in a tee time
  • no more than 3 students or juniors in a tee time
  • tee times must be booked through the pro shop
  • Must be a current player on an NCAA Division 1 Golf Team OR a previous season’s GAO Men’s/Women’s ranking of 30th or better.
  • Previous season GAO ranking of 20th or better in either the Bantam, U17, or U19 provincial rankings
Both student and junior ELITE applicants must complete the level 1 rules course provided by Golf Canada.
A junior or student member who meets the qualifications and wishes to be considered for elite status must submit a resume detailing recent golf competitions and other relevant information along with a statement of interest to the Head Golf Professional.
If the Head Golf Professional determines that the applicant meets the Qualifications, the Head Golf Professional may invite the applicant for an interview (e.g. an in-person interview, a round of golf, etc.).
The Head Golf Professional will consider the applicant based on the material filed with the application, the interview, the applicant’s posted scores, the applicant’s past conduct, the volunteerism at the golf club, and any other factor deemed relevant. References may be requested if not provided in the initial application. The number of Elite Junior and Student members will also be a factor considered.
The Head Golf Professional will also discuss the applicant with the other Golf Professionals, Management Staff, Junior Committee and Golf Committee before making a decision.
A final decision will be communicated to the applicant by the Head Golf Professional.
  • Elite junior status will be given only for the season in which the application is received and not for any longer than one season.
  • As junior and student members enjoy generous playing privileges, elite status will be given on an exceptional basis.  Even if the applicant meets the Qualifications, there is no guarantee that the applicant will be approved.
  • Although previous status as an elite junior or student member may be helpful, it does not guarantee that the applicant will be approved in subsequent seasons.
  • Applicants are encouraged to apply prior to the commencement of the season.
  • Elite status will be subject to review over the course of the season and may be suspended or revoked at the discretion of the Club, Head Golf Professional, Junior and/or Golf Committees.
